We are doing a great job on our Benchmark testing.  We should be done (hopefully) on Monday. I will keep you posted.
Please remember to send in the permission slip and the money for the field trip by next Friday.  I will do the blind draw for the chaperones on Friday morning and let you know if you are chosen or not.

Coming home tonight is the details and permission slip for our first field trip.  We will be going to Eagle Creek Park on October 29.  Please have the money and permission slip back to school by Friday, October 7th. 
The children will have a spelling test tomorrow and a Religion test.  For the Religion test they will be allowed to use their notes and the book when taking the test.  Their reading log is also due tomorrow.

Parents, I have not been able to access my email at all today.  I apologize if you sent me an email and I did not answer.  Today we had our 3rd lesson in our Reconciliation books and I had SEVEN  children that did not bring their books.  Please remind them that the book needs to be here on Tuesdays.  They will be bringing home the book tonight so you can do the family lesson with them and have the book back by next Tuesday Oct. 4
Homework tonight is a spelling paper and to study for the spelling quiz tomorrow.  Some children have reading papers to finish also.  They can work on the reading log if that is not finished.

Hopefully we will be able to get into the computer lab tomorrow morning and begin to take our first Benchmark testing.  Since the new boiler was being put in down there we have gotten behind schedule.  For those who don't know what Benchmarks are , they are a test done on the computer to assess the children abilities and needs in the area in Math, Reading, English and Science
Homework tonight is the reading log and study for the spelling sentences.  Some of the children did not finish their math and are bringing that home too.

Homework tonight is a spelling paper dealing with th, ch, sh and wh words.  They children are also bringing home their Reconciliation book, we have finished the school lesson 2 and now you are to do the home lesson 2 and have the book back to school next Tuesday the 27th.
 We will be having the spelling quiz tomorrow over Unit 4 words.  The children can also work on their weekly reading log.

We will be using our purple First Reconciliation books tomorrow in Religion.  Please be sure your child's book is here at school for Lesson 2. 
The children are bringing home Unit 4 spelling words to copy  so they will have them at home to study this week.  Please have them bring their spelling noktebook back to school tomorrow.  They can also be working on their weekly reading log.

Please remember after you have gone over Lesson 1 with your child in his/her First Reconciliation book to send the book back to school.  We will be using it on Tuesday of each week.  You can send it back as soon as you finish with it.
Reading logs are coming home tonight for next week.

For homework tonight the children are bringing home their Scholastic newspaper which we read together in class. They have a sheet of questions to answer about the articles we read.  Encourage them to look for the answers in the article.  They are to bring both the newspaper and the questions sheet back tomorrow.

Homework tonight is a math paper and a reading paper.  the math paper has facts to 14 and the reading paper is about Dinosaurs. 

We had four students that did not bring their First Reconciliation book to school for our first lesson today.  Please help them to do the lesson at home and have the book back to school by next Tuesday for our 2nd lesson.

Homework tonight is to copy the Unit 3 spelling words to keep at home and then bring the spelling notebook back to school tomorrow.  They can also work on their reading log.

The children are bringing home another reminder about the Rite of Enrollment Sunday afternoon.  It also has the dates for the retreat and the day of First Reconciliation on it.  The children will be receiving their book that we will be using for preparation for confession on Sunday.  We will be working in those on Tuesday, September 13th for the first time.  They will bring them home that night for you to do the home lesson with them.  Be sure to have the books back to school by the following Tuesday for our 2nd lesson at school.  We will be working in them each Tuesday for 6 weeks. 
We had a beautiful prayer service today in remembrance of 9-11. 

Tomorrow the children will be allowed to wear red, white and blue in remembrance of 9/11. (jeans allowed) We will have a prayer service at 9:15 AM.
The children will have a spelling test tomorrow over Unit 2 words.  They will also have an open book test over Chapter 1 in Religion.  They should have their book home with them tonight.  The weekly reading log is also due tomorrow.
We have ice cream available tomorrow after lunch.

This Friday, September 9, we will be having a prayer service at 9:15 AM to remember the events of 9/11/01 and those who died on September 11, 2001.  The prayer service will be in the gym.  That day the children will be allowed to wear red, white and blue. (YES THE BLUE CAN BE JEANS)  They do not have to wear their uniforms.

The children are bringing home a homework sheet on responsibility.  Please sit down with your child and do this paper together.  RESPONSIBILITY is our lifeline that we are studying this month.  This paper is due on Friday, Sept. 9

Please have the children do their reading log and study their spelling words.  We will be having a spelling test on Friday.  Some of the children will be bringing home a math paper to finish tonight.

After grading the quiz we took on Wednesday in spelling, I decided we need more time to work on Unit 2 words so we did not take the test today.  we will take it at the end of next week.

Today the weekly reading log was due.  I had 6 students that did not turn it in.  The children will have to turn in a reading log every week of the school year.  I want reading to become a part of their life.  Please encourage your child to read each night and record it on their reading log.  Your help with this is greatly appreciated
