Coming home tonight is the letter explaining Holy Spirit First Communion picture day on May 9, 2012.  If you have any questions about it, send in a note or email me and I will get right back to you.

We will be working on Unit 25 spelling words this week.  Everyone should have them at home already. The reading log is due on Friday.

The children need to be working on their speeches for the Living Museum.  We will be doing that on this Thursday, May 3rd.  The children should bring their costumes.. We will change into them before we begin.  Please keep the costumes as simple as possible.  Our museum times are 9:30 - 10:30 and 11:30 -12:15.  We hope you can make it.

Friday we will have a Religion test over Chapter 15.  The children's reading log is due also.

We have had two great First Communion Celebrations already and looking forward to two more this coming weekend.  Don't forget practice this Wednesday for this week's First Communions.  The practices are in the church at either &6:00 (for Saturday  FC) or 7:00 (for Sunday FC)

We have been benchmark testing this week so we haven't had the time to spend on spelling, this week's lesson 25 will carry over to next week.  We will continue to work with the words this week, but all tests will be next week. Tonight's homework is to work on their speeches and to work on their reading log.

The children are bringing home a new spelling list tonight.  Please have them make a copy of the words to keep at home and then they should  bring their spelling notebook back to school tomorrow.  They need to bring their speeches to school tomorrow as we will be spending time memorizing them.  Working on the reading log is something they should do every day.

What a great Special Persons day we had.  We made a hand craft and then played our spelling game "Sparkle"  (Devon"s Aunt Tina won) and then got to go to the Book Fair.  After that we all met in the church for a special presentation.
Tonight's homework is to work on our speeches, get our reading log done for the week and to study for our spelling test.

First Communion practice tonight at 6:00 and 7:00 for those making Communion this Saturday and Sunday.
Homework tonight is to begin memorizing the speech for the Living Museum and do do reading for the weekly reading log.

Tomorrow speeches are due for the Living Museum   If you are helping your child, please make it only 7 or 8 sentences long.  Remember they will have to memorize their speech.  They need to be written as though you child is that person.  Example:  Hi My name is Michael Jackson.  I am a famous rock and roll singer ...........
The children also have a spelling paper for homework and we will be having a spelling quiz tomorrow.  As always they should be working on their reading log.

REMEMBER THOSE MAKING FIRST COMMUNION THIS SATURDAY HAVE A PRACTICE AT 6:00 WEDNESDAY EVENING.  THOSE MAKING COMMUNION ON THIS SUNDAY HAVE A PRACTICE AT 7:00 ON WEDNESDAY.  THESE PRACTICES ARE IN THE CHURCH.

The new spelling words for this week should be coming home tonight.  Please have the children make a copy of them to keep at home.  We will be having a test on the water cycle tomorrow. They should have brought home the packet to study.  They will have to draw the water cycle.  Reading log is also something they can work on.

There is a reminder coming home tonight about practice for First Communion.  Anyone making First Communion on April 21 or 22 has a practice on Wednesday night, April 18th  in the church. Those making Communion on the 21st will have practice at 6:00, those making Communion on Sunday the 22nd will have practice at 7:00.

Spelling test over Unit 23 words tomorrow and a Religion test over Chapter 14.  The children's reading log is also due tomorrow.

Everyone but Isabel(she has been absent) has chosen their person for the living museum.  Remember by next Wednesday they should have their speech written and turned in.  Then we can start memorizing it.
Joseph, Brianna, Ty ,Andrew and David  have books that are overdue at the Library.  Please any help with getting those back will be appreciated.
We are also working on a Science project here at school.  We are studying the different biomes. Each group has a different biome to learn about and present to the class.
Homework tonight is to study spelling words and to do their weekly reading log. The children can also begin to work on their speech for the living museum.  Please make sure that your child is getting on Aleks a few times each week.

We are still working on Unit 23 spelling words for this week.  Tonight's homework is a phonics paper and to work on their weekly reading log.

There are about 6 children who have not turn in their choice for the Living Museum.  If they do not turn in a choice by tomorrow I will assign a person for them to do.  Please have them google famous people from Indiana.  This will help them make a choice.

Tomorrow is our big day.  The Holy Thursday presentation will be at 2:10 tomorrow in the church. The boys who are playing parts of the apostles and Jesus just need to wear their gym shorts and gym shirts.  The other children who have reading parts or singing are to wear their regular uniforms.  We will be dismissing from the church.
 The second and third grades will be doing a project called the living museum.  Please ask your child for the paper with the timeline for the project tonight. If you have any questions let me know.

OUR PRESENTATION OF THE LAST SUPPER ON HOLY THURSDAY WILL BEGIN AT 2:10 IN THE AFTERNOON.  WE WILL BE DISMISSING RIGHT FROM CHURCH.
The boys who are playing the part of the apostles  and Jesus need to ujust wear their gym clothes to school on Thursday.
