The children are bringing home a reading log to do over the Christmas break, as I said please keep them reading over break.  I hope you all have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas.

Homework tonight is the weekly reading log.  Please check with your child on supplies.  Just about everyone needs more glue sticks.  Perhaps this is something you could put in their stockings.

Congratulations to  AJ, our room Spelling Champion!  Andy stayed up for a long time also and was edge out in the end. 
Homework tonight is a math paper.  The reading log is due Thursday this week since there is no school on Friday.  The only homework I will be sending home over break is a double reading log.  It will be due on the day we come back from break (Jan. 9th) PLEASE KEEP THE CHILDREN READING EACH AND EVERY DAY OVER BREAK.  Last week 6 children did not turn in their reading logs.  It does effect their grades.

Reading log is due tomorrow and there will be a spelling test.
See you tonight between 6:30 and 6:50.  Have your child report to Room 4 at that time.

The children have a math paper for homework tonight.  Some children have a phonics paper to finish.
Please remember to send your child's costume to school tomorrow.  The dress rehearsal is at 1:30.  I will send them home in their costume.  They are to return to school in costume at 6:30 tomorrow evening for the evening performance which will start at 7.  Our class is to report to Room 4.

Everyone has a spelling paper for homework tonight.  Some of the children did not finish their directions paper and they are bringing it home to finish.  We will be taking our spelling quiz tomorrow, so they should look over their spelling words tonight.

The children are bringing home their spelling words for the week.  They should also have their religion book for a test over Chapter 10.  It will be an open book test. 
Remember, if possible, to have your child read 10 to 15 minutes a night instead of cramming it all into one night.

I want to let you know that I do take a grade on the weekly reading log.  If it is not in on time, then points are deducted.  If the children just copy a few lines from the book and don't give me just a summary, points are deducted. At this point of the year the children are all capable of reading on their own.  This is their homework, I do appreciate the fact that you make sure it is done but they need to take some responsibility for it themselves.  If you can not find books for them to read at home, please let me know and I will send some your way.
The children are bringing home a Family homework paper that was due today, but for some reason we did not get it until today.  If you can go over this with them and have them bring it back on Monday, it will be helpful to our student ambassadors.

The children did an awesome job reading at Mass today.  We received many compliments from a lot of people. I was very proud of them.
Tomorrow we will have a spelling test and a religion test.  The weekly reading log is also due tomorrow.

The children will have a religion test on Friday.  They have to memorize the 8 things that occur in the first part of the Mass (The  Liturgy of the Word)  We have been working on this in class.  They should be bringing home the list tonight.  The weekly reading log is due on Friday.
Remember we are doing the readings at the 8:30 Mass tomorrow.

We will be having our classroom spelling bee the week of December 19.
We will be viewing the book fair tomorrow afternoon and  making out a wish list of books we would like to have.

Tonight when the children bring home their spelling notebooks, please remind them to not only copy their new words for the week , but to also look over Unit 12 words that gave them trouble on last week's test.  We marked those this morning in our spelling notebook.
Remember we are collecting gently used shoes for the children of Honduras and any small amount of money the children can earn to donate to buy uniforms for these children. This is our advent project.
